Questions

What people ask us most

Do you take my insurance?

We bill some PPO plans directly and are out of network with others. We check your benefits and tell you before the first session. We do not take Medicare or Medicaid.

Can I get a superbill, and what do I do with it?

A superbill is an itemized receipt, and you can send it to your plan to ask for reimbursement for out-of-network care. Your plan decides whether it pays. It lists a diagnosis code, which your insurer sees.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you pay without insurance you have the right to a written estimate of what your care will cost before it starts. You can dispute a bill that is $400 or more above the estimate. The estimate is not a contract.

How much does it cost and how do fees work?

Your fee is given to you in writing before the first session. How fees work explains insurance, receipts and the estimate in more detail.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Sessions are an eligible expense on most HSA and FSA cards. Your plan's administrator decides what it accepts.

What happens in the first session?

A conversation. Your clinician asks what you want to change, explains how ERP works and what stays private, and answers questions. We do not start exposures on the first day.

How often will we meet, and for how long?

Sessions are 50 minutes. Your clinician sets the pace with you. Many people meet weekly at first. We don't promise a number of sessions.

Are you licensed where I live?

Our clinicians are licensed in Ohio. You need to be in Ohio during a video session, and sessions in person are in Blue Ash.

What do I do in a crisis?

Call or text 988, any time. In an emergency, call 911. Crux is not an emergency service, and messages are not read around the clock.

What is confidential, and what are the limits?

We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows. We explain the limits in writing at the first session, such as risk of serious harm.

Can you see my teen, and how does consent work?

Yes, for teens 13 to 17. A parent or guardian gives consent to start. Teens, parents and privacy explains who learns what.

What is your cancellation policy?

Tell us 24 hours before a session and you are not charged. We hold the time for you, which is why late cancellations are billed.
